While I was heading out to eat with some friends I saw some geese in a park on the way there. Like any waterfowl photographer I pulled in and grabbed my binos and started scanning for bands. As I neared the end of the group of roughly three dozen, I spotted this ol' girl with some jewelry. Dropped the binos for the camera and I was able to get close enough that I got some really nice sharp images from all sorts of angles. It wasn't until I got home later I realized I could read the entire band, so I reported it! She was 7 years old and had returned to the very place she was banded with her own batch of goslings. This is the first band I've been able to photograph in detail on a live bird so I was pretty excited!
